Why you should style with purple.

Why you should style with purple.

Welcome back!

Today I want to show you how eaisly you can bring a sense of mystery, creativity, and elegance to your life. From soft lilac through warm perylene violet to the deep plume hue - this color completely transforms your home and your mood. Purple is trending right now, people around the world are embracing the purple aesthetic - in home decor, clothes and seasonal styling.

You've probably already noticed that purple is one of my personal favourites. Not just because I like the warmth and moodines of it - it is the colour of one of my favourite flower - Iris. At Ana Victoria Home I love experimenting with different components, using colour to tell a story and create a magical experience for my guests.

Why the Purple aesthetic works?

Purple has so many shades and tones that it becomes versatile. You can choose what effect you want to accomplish and use the right tone to expresses your intentions. If you're looking for a calm and romantic vibes - use lilac or lavender, but if you brave enough to bring some drama into your life deep plum or indigo works great.

Lavender

It's light and airy - perfect if you want a cozy space.

Rich tones

If you want to really make a statement use bold accents in deeply saturated hues.

Complimentary pallettes

Combine purples with neutrals, greens or golds for a smoother transition.

2. Purple on the Table – Tablescape Inspiration

Napkins & Textiles:

Easy way to bring energizing accents to your neutral tableware. You can totaly transform your basic white dishes with a pop of lavender or violet napkins. Just like I styled my Iris Napkins here.

Floral Arrangements:

While creating your floral arrangements use dalias, hydrangeas, Irises or even simple lavender stems. I like to use smokebush branches because I love it's rich burgundy tones and neutral shape of the leaves, they act as great filler.

Candles & Accessories:

If you want to instantly create the atmosphere use violet tone candles. They're are the easiest way to play around - just change the color and in one minute, you can achieve a different look with every table setting.

Edible Styling:

Eggplant, grapes, figs and plums make beautiful and delicious table accents.  Inexpensive way to add some color and natural beauty to your table.

Decorations:

Here you can really be creative- from the porcelain figureenes and decorative salt and paper shakers to my personal favourite - bows. I love using bows as a napkin rings or to decorate candleholders - they add a lot of colour and playfulness to your table setting, and you can use them as a seasonal accent - for example attach it to the garland or wreath for a christmas decoration.

3. Purple in Your Home – Easy Decor Ideas

Pillows & Throws:

Probably one of the easiest way to bring some color to your home are through the pillows and pillow covers. If you want to add some coziness to your home swap your pillowcases for lavender or plum toned ones.

Wall Art

Try new watercolor prints or abstract art to bring new colorway into your interior. Even the basic beige can look fresh and different with new art. You can even turn on your tv art mode or even easier, search "tv art" on Youtube and pick anything you like.

Moody Corners:

Create a moody corner in a purple colorway. Use candles, books, textiles or even a colorful lampshade to get yourself a cozy reading nook for rainy Autumn evenings.

4. Color Story Ideas – Trending Palettes with Purple

Create a new story in your home using these color combos that are very trendy right now.

Lavender + White

If you're a minimalist and yet, like the color - choose lavender and white. This combination is clean, minimal and modern.

Purple + Gold

Those two are  timeless and elegant, that's the proposition for those who like the classic aestethics and are not affraid to make a statement. Spray paint few wallnuts, acorns and dry flowers for a whimsical and charming effect.

Purple + Green

Take the inspiration from nature - greens and purples looks great together, just like my beloved Irises. You can't go wrong with that.

Purple + Soft Pink

If you looking for a whimsical aestethics, this one is for you. Since these tones are close to one another on the colour wheel, they provide a warm and romantic atmosphere. Great to bring some comfort into your interior.

Purple + Blue

Similar to purple and pink - purple and blue are next to each other on the colour wheel, this way they naturally blend without clashing.
Depending on what you try to achieve you can get a soothing modern look with the lighter shades and drama and richness with the deeper blues and purples.

5. What's the meaning behind Purple

A very powerful color that purple is, can also be seen as a symbol of independence, dignity and self - respect.

6. Create Cozy Ritual

Maybe you'd like to try create a simple and cozy ritual in your home, that'd bring you warmth in these cold fall days. To do this, simply set you table with soft cotton napkins, add a single lavender stem at each setting ( you can use dried lavender, since it dries out beautifully and the smell stays strong for a long time ) and light a candle in a deep burgundy shade. Brew tea or serve delicious yeast-cake with plums. The purple will set the elegant and soothing mood for the entire evening.

Experience

Purple isn’t just a color trend — it’s an experience, for you, your family, your friends. Whether you choose lavender for a soft effect or plum for drama it will not go unnoticed, purple brings personality and elegance. Whether it's your outfit or your table decorations you can use it to implement warmth into your life.
